Address (use this address in GPS):
107 Beaches Lane, Newbury Victoria, 3458 Australia.
Two ways, the Northern (via Calder Freeway highlighted in red), or the Western (via Western Freeway highlighted in blue) route.
Northern Route from Calder Freeway: Woodend-> Tylden-> Tylden South-> Trentham-> Newbury.
Western Route from Western Freeway: Greendale-> Dales Creek-> Blackwood-> Barry’s Reef-> Newbury.
The maps indicate both 107 and 109 beaches lane.
The second map that has 109 Beaches lane indicates a better reference for where the retreat buildings are (more so than 107 beaches lane). For GPS, 107 Beaches lane is more likely to return a useful reference point for car-navigation.
The location is found at the end of Beaches Lane (which is a dirt road). The dirt road is usually in good condition and does not require a 4WD vehicle.

Avoid Yankee Road
Some GPS units (Tom Tom and Navman etc.) and iphone map will guide visitors to “Yankee Road” near Newbury and ask people to walk 500 metres to get to 107 Beaches Lane (the Newbury Buddhist Monastery location). This is due to the fact that Beaches lane is THEORETICALLY linked to Yankee Rd. On the maps it goes all the way through, but in reality, it’s nothing but a rough road with trees and shrubs on it. Please AVOID Yankee Road…it will only lead to suffering should you wish to get to Beaches Lane and NBM. A rough map is included here to demonstrate where Yankee Road is, and where you should be going instead (Beaches Lane via Blackwood-Trentham Rd).
